Soul Mates
Sometimes people are unable to
make a commitment because they
compare their new partner to
some perfect fantasy person of
their dreams. They may love a
person, but wonder if they are
making the right decision to be
with them. They want to make
sure they get the best person
they can. They may worry that
maybe somewhere there is a
better person for them. By
expecting their soul mate to be
perfect, they do not give
themselves a chance to find true
and lasting love.
This person postpones making a
commitment because they are
expecting perfection. They
imagine that their soul mate is
perfect. They do not have a
realistic perspective of
relationships and people. A
soul mate is not a perfect
person. There is no such person
everyone continually changes
because that is the process of
evolution.
The realization that a person is
a soul mate happens after time
has been taken to know each
other. It is unrealistic to
expect this recognition right
away. It takes time for our
hearts to open fully to one
another. When love grows, then
we just know one day if our
partner is right for us. This
recognition is not a mental
assessment. It is a natural
knowing.
The right person for us is
recognized by our soul, not by
our mind. The soul does not
figure things out. It just
knows! This is the person for
me. If we try to figure out if
a partner is right, then we will
be judging them from our mind.
From this perspective, they will
never be enough. Our mind will
always find a list of flaws. To
pick a soul mate, we must choose
from our soul. |
