People are confused and unhappy because they never know from one moment to the next which side they should be on. Nervously jumping back and forth like a caged canary, a man is haunted by fear of making the wrong or the less-advantageous choice. The mistake is the mistake always made by a divided mind - it thinks its life depends upon a secure attachment to either this or that.
