The quality of our recovery is reflected when we give back through service on committees which serve the needs of the members.

Public Relation Committee:

What is Public Relations?

Ask five people of their definition of "public relations" and, chances are, you’ll get five different answers.

Many people think public relations and publicity are synonymous. But publicity is just one of the facets of an overall public relations operations. Public Relations include much more.

Since the term means different things to different people, let us define public relations, as it pertains to the Next Step Recovery, as the planned effort to create understanding, favor and support for our organization's programs and objectives among the members, the media and the general public.

In essence, the function of public relations is to build and to maintain a positive image of The New Way of Life Institute.

Public relations includes anticipating benefits for the community and the Next Step Recovery that might result from our programs, getting support for these programs, planning them, publicizing them and evaluating them. The key element is that the programs serve the public interest.

Events Committee:

The Events Committee is responsible for:

Acting as first line of contact for individuals seeking event-related assistance from the New Way of Life.

Setting policies for all sponsored events and assisting with setup and organization of events, as necessary.

Supplying events with equipment, signs, brochures, and in conjunction with other committees as needed.

Newsletter Committee:

The Newsletter Committee is responsible for the publication of a newsletter at least four times annually to inform members of activities of the membership and other matters of interest to the organization.
